The Mountain
Words & Music by Terry Bacon with words
by Monica Serra ©2006
I just wrote down a couple of
thoughts here
with some rhythm and some rhyme
and I dreamed a song
the words came along in time
to be captured into a memory
written down to keep me company
sometimes mean
much more than I can say
I have piled up into a mountain
my desires and my dreams
all my hopes and my expectations
are there it seems
I'm singing songs about the way that I'm feeling
writing poems with my words and rhymes
painting pictures with my colors and lines
and if they're too dark - I'll make them bright
I'm making words out of boxes of letters
dusty papers that still hold your touch
rearranging them to make it seem better
so I don't need to feel so much
I am standing up on a mountain
made of memories - strong as steel
where my dreams and imaginations are so real
the remembered and the forgotten too
what I've done - or never got to do
I'll take them all - and make them something new
I'm singing songs about the way that I'm feeling
writing poems with my words and rhymes
painting pictures with my colors and lines
and if they're too dark - I'll make them bright
I'm making words out of boxes of letters
dusty papers that still hold your touch
rearranging them to make it seem better
so I don't need to feel so much
